ALL THE INFO

Hello, World!

My name is Analese Lutz and I'm a 20-year-old college sophomore from Ohio studying Information Science and Writing at the University of Michigan. After a few digital media courses, I became fascinated by the evolution of the ways in which humans spread information.

Before the written word, history was recorded as stories passed down through countless generations. Then came cuneiform in ancient Mesopotamia and hieroglyphics in ancient Egypt. Eventually, we reached the invention of the printing press that allowed writing to be distributed in exact copies. Pieces of writing and images carrying thoughts, beliefs, entertainment, science, and art were able to travel across geographical boundaries in unprecedented ways. How cool! Then, skip ahead a few centuries, we had the typewriter which made the production of writing faster. And now, after the typewriter was traded in for the keyboard of a computer, anyone with cell service or a wifi connection can spread information around the world almost instantaneously.

Today, with the sheer amount of digital information produced every second, it can be easy to feel a little lost in cyberspace. I'm here to be your guide through important topics like fake news, privacy settings, the ulterior motives of big tech companies, and so much more!
